Etowah Indian Mounds

The Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site preserves the remains of a sacred ceremonial center of an ancient town that was home to several thousand Native American Indians from around 950 C.E. to about 1550 C.E. The site is also a heritage site of the Muskogee Creek people, whose ancestors were the original builders and inhabitants of Etowah.
Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site is located five miles southwest of downtown Cartersville off I-75 exit 288. There is a small admission fee. Group tours/rates are available with advance notice.
